First we would like to thank the four people who
critiqued this site. Your comments were both generous
and supportive.
The first change we made was first mentioned by Kristin
Peasley, she asked if we could link the aforementioned
images to the source in which we obtained those images.
These images used to be linked to the credits page,
but are now linked to their respected source.
The second change we made was first mentioned by
Kristin Peasley, she asked that we enlarge the font
size. The font size was 11 and the header text (orange
in color) was 12, those were changed to 12 and 13
respectively.
The third change we made was first mentioned by Jennifer
Manfred, she asked that we make a small pop-up window
for the definitions used in the text instead of the
direct link (via _blank tag) to dictionary.com.
This was first done to give the site a little humor
as well as supply some background information. After
using the site we discovered that dictionary.com is
slow to load, so instead of producing our own pop-up
windows, we decided to use education.yahoo.com
as our dictionary utility. We found that this site
loads much faster than dictionary.com and is a little
easier to read. (We also found that there are far
more adds on dictionary.com than on Yahoo's site)
Tim Wisner asked that the Javascript near the top
of the HTML be single spaced. We didn't make any changes
regarding this request. The format of the Javascript
isn't a requirement of this course, nor does it make
any difference to the performance of this site.
Tim Wisner, also asked that we insert a small description
under each of the images we used. After a lengthy
discussion within our group we decided to leave the
discription out, but to include an "alt"
tag for each image. We found that the discription
took something away from out "clean" look.
Yin Chen gave us some interesting comments about
the content of the site. She suggested some additional
research figures regarding the effectiveness of the
aesthetic changes computer manufactures made. Market
research on this topic was difficult to obtain, and
more difficult to find on all 3 products (desktops,
laptops, and PDA's).
Because of the changing nature of these products we
found it very difficult to comply with this request.
